The vessels of the 19th Century were those of the regular service and kalber ships. The first trip was scheduled in 1818. These trips persisted in the same load conditions (with or without passengers).

While vessels kalber appeared in 1940 traveled to import tea from China, wool from Australia. They also carried travelers across the Cape of Good Hope to California and the United States. This period is known by the gold rush (between 1849 and 1857). And because of their power structures and the higher number of their vells, these ships salled fast in the oceans.
